“SPIRULINA IN HUMAN NUTRITION & HEALTH” IS SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE THIS YEAR

IRVINE, Calif., – A compilation of scientific research and benefits of Spirulina entitled “Spirulina in Human Nutrition and Health” will be released this year.  The book is edited by Eric Gershwin, MD, a professor of immunology and an expert in nutrition and immunology, and Amha Belay, Ph. D., a scientist with extensive knowledge in Spirulina production, quality assurance and health application.

There is a large body of scientific literature on the nutritional and health benefits of Spirulina.  However, this information is found in individual experimental papers that are published in numerous journals making it difficult for scientists, researchers, food technologists, students and consumers to get access to such information easily.  This book is the first of its kind to assemble a large body of knowledge on Spirulina into one reference.  The chapters in the book are written by a select group of reputable international scientists who have done extensive research in their particular areas of interest in Spirulina.
