    Earthrise® Obtains NSF HACCP Certification

    Earthrise Nutritionals proudly announces that it has achieved third party HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certificate of registration from NSF making it the only Spirulina Company in the USA to have such a certification. The HACCP process involves a critical analysis of potential sources of food safety problems, putting control limits based on regulatory or other guidelines, and controlling the process so that these limits are not exceeded and verifying the effectiveness of the controls. Even though HACCP is mandatory only for meat, poultry, sea food, milk and fresh cut vegetables, Earthrise chose to follow this strict procedure in its production process in order to guarantee the safety of its products even further.

    Earthrise is the only Spirulina company in the continental US to determine its Spirulina GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) after FDA review of the existing scientific evidence on the safety of its product. “This additional HACCP registration is a manifestation of Earthrise’s commitment to guarantee the safety and quality of its products through a proactive process control” says Amha Belay, Ph.
